Benjamin Rasmussen preached on how God sees, hears, knows, and takes action on the oppressed and the oppressors.
Exodus 3 gives us the story of God calling Moses from the burning bush that he sees Israel’s affliction, he hears their cry, he knows they’re suffering, and comes down. God hates oppression and injustice, wherein his law that he gives to Israel he calls them to love people and do justice and not to oppress people. In the Old Testament narrative, Israel fails at being the people who love people and starts becoming the oppressors. Christ’s death is for the oppressed and oppressor, where he brings justice. The church body is called to do justice and love people. We must be those who look out for the interest of those in suffering and oppression and takes action in today’s society to love people.
