What do you value and pursue most in life? In our sermon this past week, we learned from Philippians 3 how Paul had it all when it came to what was desired in the Jewish culture in his day. A Hebrew of Hebrews.
However, he counted all that as rubbish and loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. Christ is a treasure to pursue and hold on to above anything and everything. Even in the midst of suffering, especially in the midst of suffering, Christ is something to hold fast to, cling to, to love above all else. We are to forget what lies behind us and focus on what lies ahead as our goal is Christ.
Paul uses the term knowing Christ, which implies a deep, personal, and intimate relationship with Christ.
What is the treasure that you pursue? Is it Christ?
