|It is a time of new beginnings and rebirth. That is the essence of salvation in the Gospel, it is what we are focused on right now in moving from 2021 and into 2022, it is also what is happening at Holy Cross as we replant our church from Brookfield into the Third Ward of Milwaukee.|
Last Sunday we said a tearful goodbye to Rev. Malone and the Malone family as we celebrated his nine years of ministry with us at Holy Cross. We now move the church this Sunday into Milwaukee’s Third Ward.
Already we have 21 new people that have stated they will be at our service in the Third Ward on January 9th, and many more that are interested but have not committed. Rev. Yehoshua Odidi will be administering Holy Communion and I (Michael) will be preaching. The service starts at 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd floor of the Historic Priztlaff Building that is at the intersection of West St. Paul Avenue and North Plankinton Avenue (go through cobblestone courtyard off of St. Paul Avenue and follow the signs).
We are looking forward to a time of worship together. Since this is a kick-off of Holy Cross in the Third Ward, we only thought it appropriate to have a kick-off event following the service. This includes a watch party of the Green Bay Packers taking on the Detroit Lions complimented with chili, hot dogs (and thus chili dogs for those who are inclined), and cake!
Please join us and share with family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and strangers . . .
The church website, www.HolyCrossMKE.org, has many updates to look at with more coming. Please share your ideas.
Prayer Request – we have a great setup for the church replant into the Third Ward of Milwaukee . . . however we have one big need, that is music ministry. Please pray that God will lead someone to step up for regular music ministry as we move forward with this new location.
