|We are off to a great start in our replant of Holy Cross in the Third Ward of Milwaukee. We have been actively engaged in letting our local community know we are hereby being involved in community events, passing out flyers, interacting with neighborhood community groups on Facebook, and simply building relationships. |
There are many people that are looking for objective truth and faith that goes beyond entertainment to show deep roots in the historical Christian tradition and practice. Another key element that sets us apart is relationships. We want deep relationships that let our community and neighbors know that we are here and that we genuinely care about them and are interested in them. This opens the doors to share the love of God in the Gospel.
In this context, this past Sunday, the Rev. Yehoshua Odidi challenged us to put our best foot forward and be empowered with the Holy Spirit in our Christian walk. He started this in our Gospel reading about the miracle of turning water into wine and transitioned to our Epistle reading in Corinthians about all being part of the body of Christ, the Church. His sermon is now up on the www.HolyCrossMKE.org website as well as our sermon podcast. Please check it out . . .
Benji & Kiera (and little Liam) will be moving here the weekend of January 29th and 30th. We would love volunteers to help them unload their moving truck, but the schedule is a little fluid right now. We are also planning on having a luncheon reception for them after service on January 30th (and a watch party if the Packers are playing).
